Frequently Asked Questions
What is ETI FAB?
ETI FAB is a one-stop metal fabrication and private-label manufacturing partner. We handle fabrication, CNC machining, welding (including robotic and laser), assembly, electronics integration, and full private-label builds under one roof so customers don’t have to manage multiple suppliers.
What industries does ETI FAB serve?
We build custom metal fabricated parts, assemblies, and private-label products for a wide range of industries, including but not limited to: Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics Manufacturing; Motor Vehicle Manufacturing; Fabricated Metal; Consumer Goods; Manufacturing Services / Metal Fabricated Services; and Plastics Manufacturing. We also support medical, telecom, aviation/airport, and government/defense programs.
What does “one-stop metal fabrication” mean at ETI FAB?
“One-stop” means we can take your idea or drawing and carry it through CAD/DFM support, prototyping, laser cutting, CNC machining, press brake forming, robotic and laser welding, finishing, assembly (mechanical and electronic), functional and pressure testing, packaging, and delivery. You get one accountable partner instead of juggling several vendors.
Does ETI FAB offer private label / contract manufacturing?
Yes. We manufacture private-label products end to end: we build the metal, assemble hardware and electronics, test it to spec, package it, and ship it as your product. This lets you launch or scale a product line without adding multiple new suppliers.
Is ETI FAB part of a larger company?
Yes. ETI FAB is one division of the ETI Network, alongside ETI (environmental control systems and critical infrastructure products) and ETI Controls (PCB design, electronics assembly, and testing). The Network exists to shorten lead times, protect quality, and give customers a single-source supply chain.
Where is ETI FAB located?
ETI FAB’s primary fabrication facility is located at 17055 Oak Ridge Rd, Westfield, IN 46074. We also operate alongside our South Bend, IN facility at 1850 N. Sheridan St., which supports production, environmental control systems, and field/customer support.
Why does ETI FAB’s service area span across Indiana?
We run two Indiana locations — Westfield and South Bend — and we actively serve customers throughout the state, including Greenwood, Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Zionsville, Westfield, Kokomo, Logansport, Peru, Rochester, Plymouth, and South Bend. We build, assemble, ship, and support on-site, which means we can deliver and support customers across Indiana quickly.
Do you have more than one facility?
Yes. We operate in Westfield, IN for fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and private-label work, and we operate in South Bend, IN for environmental control systems, field service, and customer support. Together, they allow statewide coverage and fast turnaround.
Do you provide delivery across Indiana?
Yes. We ship across Indiana and nationwide. Because we source locally and build in-state, we keep lead times tight and logistics predictable.
What fabrication capabilities does ETI FAB have in-house?
In-house capabilities include fiber laser cutting, turret punching, punch press, CNC brake press/press brake forming, sheet metal work, and structural fabrication. We back that with inspection tools like advanced quality planning, dimensional scanning, and vision systems to check critical features throughout the process.
Do you offer CNC machining?
Yes. We run CNC lathes and CNC mills to machine tight-tolerance parts, from prototypes to production runs. We produce turned/milled components such as ports, bosses, brackets, plates, and other precision parts that must assemble cleanly and hold pressure.
Do you offer laser cutting and laser welding?
Yes. We offer high-speed fiber laser cutting for clean, repeatable edges and tight nests, and laser welding for low-distortion, cosmetically clean welds on thin-gauge or precision assemblies.
Do you offer robotic welding for high-volume work?
Yes. We use robotic welding for repeatable weld quality and faster cycle times on higher-volume parts. Robotic welding keeps output consistent and protects cost and schedule.
Can ETI FAB handle assembly and testing?
Yes. We perform mechanical assembly (hardware install, gasketing, labeling, final fit-up), pressure and leak testing, and functional validation before parts ship. We’ve built telecom shelves, airport/industrial assemblies, control panels, carts, and other finished units.
Can you build and assemble electronics and wire harnesses?
Yes. We integrate harnesses, wiring, and PCB assemblies into finished products. We can deliver a complete, working assembly — mechanical and electronic — so you receive something install-ready, not just loose parts.
Do you provide CAD design and prototyping support?
Yes. We support customers from early concept, to DFM guidance, to prototype builds, to first-article approval. After that, we move into controlled production with inspection and documentation.
How fast can ETI FAB turn parts?
We’re known for short lead times and the ability to handle urgent orders. Because fabrication, machining, welding, finishing, assembly, and testing are all in-house — and we source locally — we move from drawing to shipment quickly.
Can ETI FAB handle urgent or rush orders?
Yes. We plan for rush capacity and treat on-time delivery as core to the relationship, not marketing language.
How do you help reduce lead times compared to using multiple suppliers?
Instead of sending parts to different vendors (laser shop, then machine shop, then a welder, then an assembler), we do it in one flow. That removes handoff delays, protects quality, and lowers the total cost of coordination.
How does ETI FAB ensure quality and consistency?
We don’t ship “good enough.” We inspect throughout the process and verify critical dimensions, fit, and performance. That includes dimensional checks, visual checks, pressure/leak tests when required, and final functional checks before release.
Do you perform pressure testing, fit checks, and functional checks?
Yes. For enclosures, shelves, and assemblies, we check hole locations, hardware alignment, sealing, and pressure/ leak performance before shipping. The goal is simple: no surprises in the field.
Are your parts made in the U.S.?
Yes. We are proud to be an Indiana manufacturer, and our parts are made in the U.S.A. We also prioritize domestic and local sourcing and do not trade quality for lower-cost shortcuts.
What kinds of parts does ETI FAB build?
We build variety of custom metal products, including but not limited to custom sheet metal parts, brackets, chassis, telecom shelves, control panels, heavy-duty carts, wire harness assemblies, and complete private-label products. We also deliver assemblies that include both metal and electronics.
Do you build telecom enclosures and shelves?
Yes. We build telecom shelves and enclosures with strict hole patterns, multiple attachment points, and pressure requirements. These parts are checked for fit and pressure before they ever leave our floor.
Do you build brackets, chassis, or sheet metal housings?
Yes. We cut, form, and weld brackets, housings, and chassis using fiber laser cutting, press brake forming, turret punching, MIG/TIG/robotic welding, and finishing. We can ship them as parts or as part of a complete assembly.
Can you support custom / low-volume / prototype work?
Yes. You can come to us with a drawing, a physical sample, or even just an idea. We’ll help build a production-ready version, validate it, and prepare it for repeatable manufacturing.
Can you support repeat high-volume production?
Yes. We run robotic welding, laser welding, CNC machining, and high-speed fiber laser cutting to support repeatable, high-volume work with consistent quality and fast turnaround.
How do I get a quote from ETI FAB?
Send us your drawing, model, part sample, or project vision. We’ll review requirements, timing, and quantities, then provide next steps and a path to production.
What information do I need to send you to start a project?
Ideally: a print or model, material requirements, quantity targets, and any timing constraints (especially rush needs). If you don’t have all of that, we can still start — even photos and rough specs help.
Can I bring a drawing, a sample part, or just an idea?
Yes. We work with all three. Some customers bring a sketch, some bring an old bracket they can’t get anymore, and some bring a finished unit they want built in the U.S. with shorter lead time.
Do you help with manufacturability (DFM) before production?
Yes. We review your part for manufacturability, suggest adjustments that protect function but reduce cost and lead time, and prototype before scaling. That prevents expensive changes later.
Do you offer private label manufacturing for my product line?
Yes. We can act as your private-label manufacturer: build the metal, integrate wiring and electronics, assemble and test, package, and ship under your brand.
Why should I choose ETI FAB over an overseas supplier?
We don’t trade quality for short-term savings. We build in Indiana, source locally, protect your schedule with short lead times, and support you directly when something needs attention. Reliability, not just price, is why customers stay.
How is ETI FAB investing in keeping manufacturing in Indiana and the U.S.?
We’re bringing more capability in-house — fiber laser cutting, laser welding, robotic welding, CNC machining, and wire processing — instead of sending work out of state or overseas. We’re also training the next generation, creating manufacturing jobs here, and keeping that work in the U.S.
Does ETI FAB work with local material suppliers?
Yes. We prioritize local and domestic material. That supports our community, protects supply chain stability, and keeps lead times predictable.
How does ETI FAB support long-term reliability for my production?
We design for repeatability, inspect throughout, and back it with responsive support. We supply parts and assemblies that go into critical systems — from telecom to industrial to infrastructure — so failure in the field is not acceptable.
What does “we keep our word” mean in practice?
It means on-time delivery is not just something we post but it’s an internal rule. It means nothing ships without inspection, fit verification, and functional or pressure testing where needed. And it means we invest in new capability — like the fiber laser — when demand says you need us faster.
